Serious question, why does nobody tape off outlets before painting baseboards?
I used to spend 30 minutes with a little brush cutting in around every outlet and switch plate when I painted. Last weekend I tried just pulling the plate covers off, taping over the outlets with blue painter tape, and spraying the whole wall. It took 10 minutes for a 12x15 room in my house near Akron and the lines were way cleaner. Am I missing something or has everyone else been doing this forever?
Taping over the outlets with blue painter tape is genius, way faster than cutting in. You can take it a step further and tape the whole plate area before you even pull the cover, then just slice around the edge with a blade and pop it off clean. Been doing the tape trick for years and it still surprises me how many people mess with a brush for no reason.
