That $3 fix at the flea market saved my drafty old window
I was at the flea market in Nashville last month and saw this guy selling old window weatherstripping kits for $3 each. I grabbed one on a whim because my 1920s window lets in so much cold air every winter. I followed the instructions and used a simple foam tape that took maybe 20 minutes to install. Now I don't feel a draft at all, and my heating bill dropped by about $25 last month. Has anyone else found cheap fixes like that at flea markets that actually work?

Oh honey, I hear you loud and clear on that drafty old window problem. My house was built in 1910 and every winter I'd sit there with a scarf on just trying to read in the living room. I found a similar fix at a garage sale in Huntsville a few years back, some old felt strip kit that cost me a dollar. I was skeptical but it sealed up that gap around the frame like a charm. It's funny how the little things no one thinks twice about can make such a difference.

RIGHT? Random finds are the BEST! I once sealed a draft with an old pool noodle.
