That time my basement flooded because I ignored a slow drain for 6 months

I was standing in 3 inches of water in Columbus at 2 AM after a storm, and now I check my gutters and downspouts every single month - what's your go to method for keeping drainage systems clear?

Wait, you stood in three inches of water at 2 AM and didn't call a plumber first? @tyler_fox41 that leaf blower trick is actually smart, I've seen guys on my crew clear a whole roof with one after a bad storm.

I put gutter guards on after my first basement flood and it helped a lot. I still climb up there every fall with a leaf blower to get the pine needles off. Idk if it's perfect but it beats standing in cold water again.
