The paint roller tray hack I wish I'd figured out 15 years ago

I keep seeing folks in here pour paint straight into the tray and then fight the roller to get it loaded evenly. After 3 rooms in my 1920s bungalow in Portland, I finally learned to line the tray with a cheap plastic grocery bag before pouring. It takes 20 seconds, and cleanup is just pulling the bag out and tossing it, no scrubbing dried latex off the ridges. The roller picks up a consistent coat every time because the bag keeps the paint level predictable. Anyone else try this or have a different way to handle tray cleanup?
