Thought I didn't need a plan for my basement remodel until I hit a load-bearing wall
Spent 3 weekends just staring at studs before I drew out the layout on graph paper, and suddenly the whole project clicked in about 2 hours. Has anyone else had a simple drawing save them from a major screw up?

Read somewhere that most remodel screw ups are from bad measuring.

The 2x4 I measured three times for a closet shelf ended up being a full inch too short somehow! @joseph529 you are totally right, measuring is where everything falls apart. I think a lot of people just rush through it and then wonder why their cuts are off. I always make my husband double check me now because I've learned the hard way that one little mistake throws the whole project off.
