TIL a $16 paint mixer saved my wrist after years of doing it by hand

I grabbed one of those cheap paddle attachments on a whim during a kitchen remodel in Portland, and after stirring five gallons of primer without my arm going numb, I can't believe I ever used a stick for 12 years, has anyone else finally caved on a tool they thought was a gimmick?

My buddy Mike swore by hand stirring for years, said power tools were for people who never worked a real job. Last summer he was mixing a 10 gallon batch of epoxy for his boat and his shoulder gave out halfway through. He borrowed my cheap mixer and now he won't touch a stick, even for a single quart of paint. He says it's the best 16 bucks he never wanted to spend.
