Tried to fix a leaky faucet myself and flooded the kitchen under the sink last Tuesday

So I had this drip coming from the bathroom faucet for like 3 months. I finally watched a bunch of videos and thought I could swap out the cartridge. After taking it apart, I realized the old one was completely seized and broke into pieces. I ended up having to call a plumber anyway and he charged me $180 to fix what I made worse. Has anyone else totally botched a simple plumbing job that turned into a bigger headache?

Bro is dramatic. a little water on the floor ain't that deep. told my roommate i'd help them swap a shower head and they reacted like i flooded the whole apartment. people act like a leaky faucet is an emergency when you can just put a towel down and deal with it later. calm down.

Three months in a rental with hidden mold behind the vanity later, @gonzalez.grant, and you might feel different. A little water on the floor can turn into a $500 repair bill if it seeps under the baseboards or into the subfloor. Put a towel down all you want, that moisture is still sitting there waiting to rot something.
