Unpopular opinion: I thought peel and stick backsplash was a total joke
My friend in Phoenix swore by it for her kitchen reno, but I figured it would look cheap and peel off in a week. I finally tried a roll from a brand called Smart Tiles in my laundry room last month, and honestly, it looks pretty solid. It's been up for 3 months now with zero lifting, even with the humidity. Has anyone else had a good run with this stuff, or did I just get lucky?

Yeah, that prep work is the whole game right there.

My laundry room had this ugly drywall patch for years. Grabbed some of that tile look stuff from the hardware store on a whim, the kind with the sticky grid. Pressed it on real good, especially the edges. That was maybe two years ago, it hasn't budged an inch. The trick seems to be a totally clean wall and really working it into place.

Nice. That sticky grid stuff is way better than I thought it would be. Good to know it actually holds up.
