Visited my parents old house and noticed the shaker cabinets still look perfect after 20 years
Stopped by my childhood home last weekend to help my dad with a fence post and saw the kitchen cabinets he and I built together back in 04 still holding up better than anything I see at Home Depot now. Has anyone else gone back to an old project and been surprised how well it aged?

Stopped by my childhood home" - that hits different huh. Yeah I redid my bathroom a few years back and it already looks beat. Things just don't last like they used to.

Man, I built a birdhouse once that fell apart in a week, so clearly you guys knew what you were doing way more than I ever did.

That birdhouse falling apart in a week - did you use pressure-treated lumber or just whatever was lying around?
