Fell for a "miracle" gutter guard system that seemed too good

Installed those foam inserts from Home Depot thinking they'd stop all the leaves, but after three heavy rains my downspouts clogged solid and water backed up under the shingles. Anybody else get burned by a product that looked perfect on the box but failed in real conditions?

Bought those mesh screens that looked like magic on the infomercial. Ended up with a bird nest and three pounds of pine needles wedged in there within a month. Guess the only miracle was how fast my money left my wallet.

Bought a set of those fancy magnetic bug screens for my truck cab windows. First night I slept with them, a squirrel decided my passenger seat was its new nest. Spent the next morning picking acorns out of every single cup holder. Guess the only thing those screens kept out was common sense.
