Finally caved on electric toothbrush after my manual one failed during a trip

I was at a hotel in Austin last weekend and my travel toothbrush just snapped in half when I dropped it on the tile floor. Had to borrow one from the front desk and it felt like scrubbing my teeth with a stolen broom. That got me thinking about all the buildup I miss with a manual brush after 4 years of stubbornly refusing to switch. I bought a basic Oral-B at Target for $35 on the way home and after 3 days the difference in smoothness is wild. My hygienist always said I had plaque in the same spots and I ignored her for way too long. Has anyone else had a random travel disaster make them finally try something they swore they'd never use?

Used to think electric toothbrushes were just a gimmick for people with too much money. Figured if I brushed hard enough with a manual one it'd be the same thing. Then I bought a cheap Oral-B on clearance a few months back after my wrist started hurting from scrubbing. Yeah, never going back now. That smooth feeling after the first use totally proved me wrong.

Honestly, the "stolen broom" line got me. That's exactly what the hotel ones feel like. I finally switched after a dentist trip where they had to scrape my back molars for like ten minutes. Now I'm mad I waited so long for that smooth clean feeling.
