Had a chat with my buddy Dave about why we even paint walls

We were grabbing coffee last Thursday and he said most people just pick a color based on what's trending on Instagram, not what actually makes the room feel right. It hit different because I've been slapping up whatever Behr sample they hand me for years without asking why they chose it. Does anyone else ever stop and wonder if the stuff we do daily actually matters to the people we do it for?

Man I feel this. I painted my whole kitchen a color I saw on some design blog and it made the room look like a doctors office. Ended up redoing it twice before I finally just asked my wife what she actually wanted.
