I dropped $150 on a fancy bottleless water system and went back to a Brita within a month.

The filter replacement costs were insane and it kept leaking under my sink. Has anyone else gotten tricked by those countertop water dispensers that promise endless savings?

Wait, it started leaking under your sink? That's a disaster waiting to happen with water damage and all that. I remember looking at one of those bottleless systems and thinking "cool, no more buying jugs" but then I saw the filter prices and about fell over. They get you with the low upfront cost and then the replacement filters cost almost as much as a whole new Brita every few months. I swear companies design these things to fail or be too expensive to maintain just so you have to keep giving them money. Back to the Brita is a smart move honestly, at least you know exactly what you're getting and it won't flood your kitchen cabinets.

Those things are glorified paperweights.

Man it's like nobody actually uses half the stuff they buy anymore, just sits there collecting dust until it's time to throw it out.
