I finally saw what 3 months of daily stretching does to tight hamstrings

I started doing 10 minutes of hamstring stretches every morning back in June because my lower back was killing me after showings. By September I could actually touch my toes without bending my knees, which I haven't been able to do since high school. Has anyone else had a random daily habit suddenly pay off way bigger than they expected?

Yeah that's actually a really good point lee627, but I gotta gently correct something. Touching your toes without bending your knees isn't exactly a "little win" it's a legit milestone. I've been at this stretching thing for a solid 4 months now and I still can't get my palms flat on the ground like some people claim they can. The real marker for progress is more about how your lower back feels after sitting for long periods, not just the toe touch thing. If your back pain is gone and you can actually bend over to tie your shoes without grunting, you're winning way bigger than you think lol. Keep at it man, consistency is everything.

For real, the toe touching thing is HUGE. I was the same way, couldn't even get past my shins for like two years, and then one day I just dropped down and grabbed my toes. It felt like I unlocked a hidden achievement in real life, no joke. The back pain thing too, I used to pop ibuprofen like candy after long drives, now I just get out and stretch for a minute and I'm good. Sticking with it is the REAL game changer, ben486 is right on the money about consistency being everything.

Tight hamstrings are the absolute worst, but stretching them out changes everything. Stick with it, the little wins like toe touching make it all worth it.
