I keep hearing people say you need to post 3 times a day for the algorithm, but my analytics show the opposite.

I run a small food blog focused on Midwest recipes. For six months, I posted three times a day like everyone suggests. My engagement actually dropped. Last month, I cut back to one high-quality post with step-by-step photos, like my grandma's rhubarb pie. My traffic went up 40%. People keep repeating this 'rule' without checking their own data. Has anyone else found that less is more for their niche?

Seriously, people get so obsessed with these made up rules. It's a food blog, not a hospital. Your own numbers are the only thing that matters. If posting less gets you better traffic, then that's your rule. The whole algorithm thing just makes everyone post garbage content nonstop.

Man, this happens everywhere. People just repeat what they hear without testing it, like that old advice to change your oil every 3,000 miles when most cars don't need it. They see a "rule" and stop thinking. Good on you for actually looking at your own numbers instead of the noise.

Read an article about how the 3,000 mile oil change thing started. It was basically a marketing push from quick lube places decades ago. Modern engines and oils are way better now. My car's manual says every 7,500 miles. Following the old rule just wastes money and oil. Makes you wonder what other "rules" we follow for no good reason.
