Just realized my $12 tire plug kit was actually legit, and I almost called a tow truck on I-80

Last Tuesday I picked up a screw near mile marker 214 outside Toledo and sat there for 20 minutes convinced the $12 plug kit in my trunk was junk that would blow out on the highway. I finally said forget it, watched a 4 minute video on my phone, jammed the plug in, and drove 300 miles home on it last weekend with no air loss at all. Does anyone else have a cheap fix they doubted for years before it saved their butt?
