Pro tip: check your oven rack before preheating

Last Tuesday I preheated the oven to 425 for a pizza and walked off. Came back to a loud pop, the rack slipped and the stone cracked right down the middle. My sister said 'you should've just used a baking sheet' but honestly I've done this for 5 years without issue. Anyone else had a small kitchen habit suddenly bite them after years of doing it the same way?

Any oven rack can shift if you don't check it, so that's not really on the rack, that's just a bad luck moment. I'd argue you got five good years out of it, that's a win you didn't have to pay for earlier.
