Question about that moment when a simple task spirals into disaster

I was at a coffee shop in Portland last Saturday just trying to get some work done on my laptop. A barista dropped a tray of mugs behind the counter and the crash was so loud I jumped and knocked my full drink right onto the keyboard. The screen flickered, went black, and I spent the next 45 minutes frantically drying it with napkins and rice from the kitchen. Anyone else have a minor accident turn into a whole afternoon of panic?

Whoa wait, you had rice from the kitchen at a coffee shop? They just let you grab rice to dry out your laptop? That's wild.

Wait, that's actually what got me too at first. Honestly, I used to think the whole rice trick was just a meme people did at home. But seeing a coffee shop hand over their kitchen supply like that is wild. Ngl, it changed my mind about how serious people take the drying out process. Tbh I always figured you'd just blow on the keys or leave it in a warm room, but now I guess the rice method has some real traction in the wild.
