The day my car key decided to become a hostage situation

Last Tuesday in Austin, I locked my keys in the trunk at a H-E-B lot and the spare was 40 miles away at my mom's place. AAA took 90 minutes to show up and the guy just popped the lock with a wedge and rod, which I could have done if I'd watched one YouTube video. Has anyone else had a mundane failure turn into a half-day ordeal that made you feel stupid for not preparing?

Ugh, 90 minutes for AAA feels like forever when you're just standing there staring at your own car. And the fact the guy made it look so easy with a wedge and rod, that would have bugged me too. I mean, you basically paid for the privilege of watching someone do a thing you could've learned in five minutes. I've had my own stupid moments, but locking the keys in the trunk always stings extra because it's so preventable. Hope you didn't have ice cream in the trunk, because that would've been the real tragedy.
