Walked into the old diner on Main Street and saw they replaced the counter stools with tables

I stopped by Mel's Diner in my hometown last weekend for the first time in maybe 5 years. The place looked the same except they yanked out all the spinning counter stools and put in regular tables. Half the charm of that place was sitting at the counter watching the grill cook flip eggs. Anyone else notice their local spots slowly changing these little things that made them special?

Man, that SUCKS. I remember when the diner in my neighborhood swapped out their old green vinyl counter stools for these cheap plastic tables, it felt like someone removed the soul of the place. The counter was where you could sit and shoot the breeze with the cook or watch them crack eggs and flip pancakes. Without it you just feel like you're eating in a waiting room or something. Those spinning stools had fifty years of weird energy in them from all the regulars who sat there every morning. I feel your pain for real.

Just ask the owner if they still have those stools in storage. Might sell them or bring em back if enough people ask.
