Warning: That "easy" meal prep plan on TikTok cost me 60 bucks and 4 hours of burnt food last Sunday

I used to just throw chicken and rice in a bowl and call it lunch, but after I tried that six-container system from that girl in Portland, I ended up with disaster and a smoking oven - has anyone else fallen for one of those trendy prep setups and regretted it?

Honestly, isn't that just how most "life hack" trends go - they make simple stuff look way too easy and then cost you time and money for nothing special? I've noticed it with a lot of those viral cleaning routines and productivity tips too, where the real trick is just doing the boring regular way instead of some complicated system. Ngl, the whole thing feels like a scam sometimes, because you end up buying special containers and fancy ingredients just to learn that plain chicken and rice still works fine.

The worst part is those "meal prep containers" are just expensive plastic bins that warp in the microwave. Regular Tupperware works fine and costs half as much. Plus those recipes always call for some obscure spice blend you'll never use again.
