I spent $400 on a fancy drafting lamp and it was a total waste

I saw everyone online saying a high-end lamp was a must for reducing eye strain. I bought a big brand one with adjustable color temperature and a huge arm. It took up half my desk and the light was way too harsh, even on the lowest setting. I went back to my old $30 desk lamp after two weeks. Does anyone have a good lamp that doesn't feel like you're staring into the sun?
