I started drawing my dimension text at 45 degrees after 12 years of flat labels and my checker stopped marking up my sheets
So I've been drafting structural steel shop drawings for about 12 years now and my detail sheets always came back with red marks all over the place from our checker. Two months ago I got so fed up that I tried something kind of dumb. I started angling all my dimension text at 45 degrees instead of keeping it flat and horizontal on the beam details. My first thought was my checker would hate it and send it right back. Turns out he said it made the dims way easier to read on the dense connection details because the text stopped running into the extension lines. He's only marked up one sheet since then instead of six or seven. Has anyone else messed with angled dim text or is this just a me thing that happens to work?
