My uncle's 30 year old drafting table made my ergonomic setup look dumb

He came over last week to help me with a basement reno and started laughing at my $400 adjustable standing desk, then pulled out this beat up angled board he's used since 1989 and showed me how he props his elbows with a foam block so his neck never tilts. I tried his setup for three hours drawing a stair detail and my shoulders actually felt looser than they do after a week on my fancy rig. Has anyone else gone backwards on equipment and felt dumb about how much money they wasted on the new stuff?
