Pro tip: A retired architect in my coffee shop said he always drew his first floor plan at 1/4 inch scale, then his details at full.

He told me, 'You can't see the door swing if you're already zoomed in on the hinge.' It made me stop rushing my base drawings. Anyone have a different starting scale they swear by?

Ask @joseph_murray8 if he still measures twice after that floating house mistake?

Honestly, I just start with the site plan. If the building's in the wrong spot, nothing else matters.

Relate to that so hard. Spent a whole week on interior details once before realizing my scale was way off and the whole thing was floating six feet above the property line. Felt like a total genius.
