PSA: Check your layer alignment before you get deep into a big print...

I spent about 8 hours across two days trying to figure out why my prints kept failing about halfway through. Turned out my Z-axis couplers were slightly loose from the factory. Tightening them took maybe 10 minutes but I wasted a whole weekend troubleshooting before I thought to check. Has anyone else run into something simple like this that cost them way more time than it should have?

Check your layer alignment" - yeah, that's the kind of thing that makes you want to throw the whole printer out the window. I had a similar issue with my bed leveling screws just being loose from day one.

Wait, are you sure the issue was loose screws or maybe the springs under the bed? Honestly, I thought my screws were loose too but it turned out the springs were just really weak from the factory. Ngl, I replaced them with some stiffer ones from a hardware store and it fixed the leveling problems overnight. The screws themselves shouldn't come loose if they're properly tightened, but those stock springs can compress and lose tension after a few prints. Just a thought in case you're still fighting with the bed.
