That $300 drafting software upgrade that set me back a week

I spent $300 on the latest version of my drafting software thinking it would speed up my work. Turned out the new interface was completely different and none of my old shortcuts worked. It took me a full week just to get back to my normal speed on basic floor plans. The upgrade had some nice features for 3D modeling, but I barely use those. I should have stuck with what I knew until I had time to test it on a side project first. Has anyone else jumped on an update too fast and regretted it?

Set me back a week" really hits home. I did the same thing with a photo editing suite a few years ago, paid full price for the upgrade and then spent the next two weeks googling where they hid all the basic tools. What helped me was printing out a cheat sheet with the new shortcuts and taping it to my monitor. I also forced myself to run one real project start to finish in the new version before touching my actual work files. Made the whole transition way smoother than just guessing.
