That week where everything that could warp did warp

I had a run last Tuesday where three different pieces of 2x4 stock twisted on me within an hour of cutting them. Turns out the lumberyard's storage shed roof leaked and nobody told me. Has anyone else had a bad batch of lumber ruin a whole week of work?

Agreed completely. I had a whole pallet of maple that looked fine on top but every board underneath was warped and twisted like a pretzel. Wasted a full weekend because I had already jointed and planed half of it before I noticed the mess.

...and the worst part is he didn't even catch it until he had already glued up three panels. My buddy Tom had the exact same thing happen with some walnut he bought from a big box store. Looked perfect on the top, but the whole middle of the stack was cupped and twisted so bad you could rock a table on it. He tried to fix it with a jointer but ended up losing like half an inch of thickness and still couldn't get it flat. Took him forever to return the rest and get a refund too because the store manager argued it was "natural variation." That's why I always dig through every board in a stack now, even if it takes an extra hour.
