Three years of dimension layers before my boss pointed out the obvious
I used to put every dimension on its own layer, figured it kept things tidy. My boss leans over my shoulder last Tuesday and says, 'you know that's why your files are 40MB and take forever to xref?' I never even thought about file bloat, I just did it because my first CAD teacher insisted. Switched to a single dim layer with overrides for colors and weights, cut my file size in half. Has anyone else discovered they were over-engineering something routine for way too long?
