A chat with a Coast Guard inspector in Mobile changed how I look at my cutterhead logs

He was reviewing our paperwork and pointed out a single missing pressure reading from last month. He said, 'That's not just a blank box, that's a story you can't tell if something goes wrong.' It hit me that we treat the logs like a chore, not a real tool. How do you guys make sure your daily logs actually get filled in right every shift?

What was the pressure reading for? That missing story he mentioned, was it something routine or a weird one-off event?

Honestly used to brush off those pressure spikes as just bad data. But that missing story changes everything. If it was routine they would have just said so. The fact it's gone points to something they really don't want out there. Makes you wonder what else the readings have caught that we never hear about.

Yeah joseph529, that missing story sounds like a total one-off. The pressure reading was way off the charts, not routine at all. Feels like they're hiding something big.
