Cable arm vs hydraulic arm for snag clearing, the difference is night and day

We ran a 30 foot cable arm on the Missouri River for 3 years and it felt like we were fighting every log jam. Last month the shop swapped us to a hydraulic arm on the same rig and it cleared a snag pile in 20 minutes that took us 2 hours before. The cable arm needed constant tension checks and it would jump when the load shifted, that's what got us. Hydraulic gives you steady pressure and you can feel the bite. Anyone else made this swap and see better production rates or was it just our setup?

Believe you did the right thing. A 20 minute job that used to take 2 hours is a huge difference. Makes me wonder how we all put up with cable arms for so long.
