Noticed a huge difference after I started greasing the swing bearings every 40 hours instead of 60

Been running my old 872 dragline for about 8 months now. Used to grease the swing bearings every 60 hours like the manual said. Switched to 40 hour intervals after a buddy who works on the river dredges told me he does it that way. After about 3 months I can feel the swing is way smoother, less binding when I'm trying to feather the load. Has anyone else bumped up their grease schedule and seen results?

Forty hours over sixty is a pretty big jump in grease schedule, not gonna lie. Did your buddy mention if he sees any excess grease slinging off or anything like that with the tighter interval? Kinda wild that 20 hours difference makes the swing that much smoother but I guess better safe than sorry with those old swing bearings.
