Old timer in Louisiana told me to run my cutter at half speed in mud. Laughed at him. Got stuck for 3 hours.

Last time I was fishing up near the Klamath River, a guy at the bait shop told me to take the old logging road instead of the main highway. I figured my GPS knew better and ended up stuck behind a rock slide for two hours. Now I always ask the locals for the shortcuts, especially when the weather's turning.
