Old timer told me to stop chasing the last grain of sand in the hopper
A guy named Bill who's been dredging since the 80s told me I was wasting time trying to get every single spec of sand out of the hopper before moving on. He said spend 10 minutes max on cleanup then get to the next spot. I ignored him for about 6 months and kept spending 25 minutes per load scrubbing and rinsing. After I finally tried his way I started getting through 3 more loads per shift. That adds up to about 15 extra tons a day on our Texas river job. Has anyone else had luck with a faster turnaround time or do you stick to thorough cleaning?

Bill was right even if he is hardheaded about other stuff.
