The old booms and berms vs. the new geotextile tubes...

I went with the geotextile tubes on a job up near Green Bay last fall and the dewatering time cut in half, but man I still miss the feeling of building a proper berm with a dozer - has anyone else made that switch and regretted it?

Nah, I made the switch last year and don't regret it at all, way less labor.

Way less labor? I gotta call that one into question. You ever price out a high end electric snowblower compared to a basic gas one? The gas models can be had for cheap on marketplace all day long, and they'll run for years with basic maintenance. Electric ones might not need the oil changes and carb cleanings, but when that motor burns out in 4 years you're buying a whole new unit instead of just rebuilding a carb for twenty bucks. Plus extension cords or dead batteries halfway through the driveway, that's its own kind of labor right there.
