Tried running a 8 inch cutter at 75% throttle on a sandy layer

I usually crank it to full power on everything, but last Tuesday I backed it off for a clay sand mix and the wear plates barely got scuffed. Has anyone else messed with throttle adjustments on mixed material?

Did you run it dry or with water to keep the fines from packing?

@blake_cooper makes a good point about water, running it dry really lets the fines gum up the works.
