Bought a $650 drywall lift and it saved my back in one afternoon

Ngl I was using a homemade T-brace for years like a dummy. Finally coughed up the cash for a proper panel hoist from the local supply house. First ceiling job I did with it took half the time and zero shoulder pain. Worth every penny honestly. Anyone else stubborn about buying the right tool until your body forces you?

Caved in and bought one after hanging my third sheet of 5/8" rock by myself... that was the moment my lower back told me I wasn't 25 anymore. Used a 2x4 and a floor jack for a while, but the wobble was sketchy. Got a used lift off Craigslist for $400, best money I ever spent. No more fighting with the ceiling on my shoulder.

Not 25 anymore" - man, I felt that in my soul (and my lower back too). I finally gave in after my second ceiling job left me walking like a question mark for three days, and now I feel like an idiot for not buying one years ago.
