Had to choose between a 4x12 sheet or two 4x8s for a tricky ceiling in an old house
The hallway was long and narrow with a slight curve, and my helper argued the big sheet would be faster, but I was worried about handling it solo. We went with the 4x12, and it was a real bear to lift but the single seam came out perfect. Do you guys ever take the risk with the bigger sheets on residential jobs, or stick with the 8-footers?

That "real bear to lift" part is why I stick to 8-footers and avoid chiropractor visits.

Man that's so true, @mason_flores21. It's like we all learn our own limits the hard way. You see it everywhere, people pushing too hard and paying for it later. Like my neighbor trying to move a whole couch by himself, or someone using a tiny ladder for a two story house. Knowing when to get help or just use the smaller thing saves so much pain.
