Hung 42 sheets in one day on a garage job in Mesquite, and my arms still feel it
Last Tuesday my partner called in sick so I ran solo on a 3 car garage out in Mesquite. I got 42 sheets up on the lid by myself using a panel lift, which is a personal record for me. The trick was pre marking my joists with a chalk line so I wasn't stopping to measure each sheet. My shoulders were toast by 3pm but the taper walked in Wednesday and said it was some of the flattest lid work he'd seen in a while. What's your record for sheets hung in a single day, and did you have a lift or just a dead man?
Pre marking with a chalk line is the whole game, saves you a ton of up and down on the lift. My best solo day was 38 sheets on a shop ceiling with a dead man, and I couldn't lift a coffee cup after. A lift plus layout done ahead of time is how you hit numbers like 42 without your body hating you.
