I thought those cheap plastic corner trowels were a total waste of money, but my buddy in Tampa swore by them for tight spots.

Know exactly what you mean. I used to think they were junk until I had to fix a corner behind a toilet. The big trowel was useless. That little plastic thing got in there perfect. Sometimes the cheapest tool is the one you need.

Those things are lifesavers for small drywall patches too.

Oh man, "lifesavers" is right. I fought with a big trowel on a tiny patch job last week and almost threw it out the window.
