I was dead set against mesh tape for corners until a foreman proved me wrong
For years I swore by paper tape on inside corners because that's how my old boss taught me. Then about 6 months ago a foreman on a job in Denver insisted we use mesh tape and a setting-type compound. I watched him do a whole hallway of 20 corners without a single bubble or wrinkle. Has anyone else had a long-held habit get overturned by watching someone else's method hold up better?

Mesh did the exact same thing to me. I spent years thinking paper was the only way to go because that's what my first boss drilled into my head. Then I watched a guy on a commercial job zip through corners with mesh and hot mud, no fuss no bubbles. It felt like I'd been doing it the hard way for no reason. Now I keep a roll of mesh in my truck for those fast moves and only break out the paper for weird spots. You're not alone in that conversion, it's kind of humbling honestly.
