Remember when we used to hand tape all inside corners with paper instead of using those new metal corner beads?
I was working a 1970s house remodel last week and the old paper tape in the corners was still tight as a drum, but these new plastic beads I tried on a new build cracked after one season of settling, so has anyone else noticed the older methods holding up better over time?

@gray_roberts nailed it, that old paper tape is like the Energizer Bunny. The new stuff just doesn't have the same flexibility to move with the house. Paper tape sticks better and breathes, so it doesn't crack as easy.
