Shoutout to the electrician who pointed out my corner bead trick

I was finishing a basement in Denver and an older electrician saw me using a 6-inch taping knife to bed the bead. He said, 'Kid, you're fighting it, go wider and let the mud do the work.' I switched to my 10-inch knife and the bead went on smooth in half the time. What's your go-to tool for tricky corner beads?

I mean, it's just a corner bead. The 6-inch knife works fine if you know how to use it. Maybe the guy was just having a bad day and wanted to feel helpful. It's not like this is some huge life changing trick.

You ever had one of those moments where you've been fighting with something for years and one person just opens your eyes? That 10-inch knife really is a game changer for sure. The 6-inch can work, but it fights you on the long runs. Not every trick has to be some big life changing thing to be worth sharing though.

Why not just use a 6-inch knife better?
