Talked to an old timer at the supply house last week and it hit different

I was picking up some 5/8 fire tape at Builders' Best in Akron, and this guy in his 70s stopped to look at my bazooka. He said he hung board for 25 years with nothing but a drywall hammer and a T-square, and he could still out-finish me on a bad day. It made me wonder if we lean too hard on all this fancy gear and lose the feel for the trade. Has anyone else had a conversation that made you second-guess your whole setup?

Saw the same thing with an old plumber who could solder circles around guys with ProPress.

@joseph_murray8 a ProPress fitting is done in 10 seconds with zero fire risk though.
