A GC in Spokane told me to stop running conduit like I'm building furniture
Had a job last month where I spent an extra 4 hours bending pipe to look perfect behind a drywall ceiling, and the general contractor pulled me aside and said nobody will ever see it, so it just has to work. His point was that my time is better spent getting to the next rough-in instead of making hidden work look like a museum piece, which honestly stung because I take pride in clean runs. Do you guys charge clients for the pretty stuff we hide, or is that just part of the craft that keeps us honest?

Is that extra hour really worth your back and knees? I get the pride thing, but he's right that nobody sees behind drywall, and your body is what pays for that perfection. Keep the clean bends where they matter, and save the museum work for exposed places.
