Compared Romex vs BX cable in my own basement reno last month
I ran about 200 feet of Romex in the first half of my basement project and then switched to BX for the second half after the inspector made a comment. The BX was way easier to pull through tight holes and I didn't have to staple it as much since it holds its shape better. Anyone else find one type way easier to work with in tight spots?

Romex is fine for long straight runs but BX is king in tight spaces no question. I had to fish up through a 2x4 stud bay last month and the BX just held its curve while the Romex kept flopping around like wet spaghetti. That self supporting shape saves a ton of time when you're working solo in a crawl space or attic.

Did you end up having to use any kind of anti-short bushing on the BX where it went through the studs? I swear I spent an extra 20 minutes trying to get those little plastic rings to stay put until I just gave up and used electrical tape (which is probably wrong, but hey).
