Finally wired up a subpanel right without fixing anything twice

I spent an extra 45 minutes mapping out the circuits on paper before touching anything in a house over in Oak Park last week. When I flipped the main on, everything actually worked the first time no buzzing or tripping breakers. Has anyone else noticed how much smoother the job goes when you do that extra planning upfront?

Did you check your wire pulling tensions too? That's where I see most "perfect" jobs fail later.

Tension kills more jobs than bad wire ever will.

Man, is it though? I mean sure, if you crank a pull so hard the jacket looks like a snake that ate a bowling ball, that's on you. But most guys I see checking tension are just wiggling the cable and calling it good. Half the time the "failure" is a bad termination or a connector that got stepped on, not the pull. I feel like tension gets blamed for stuff that's just cheap parts or sloppy hands. Idk, maybe it's just me but I've seen plenty of ugly pulls work fine for years.
