PSA: I changed my mind on using wire nuts for all my connections

For years, I used wire nuts on every job, thinking they were the only right way. Then, about two years ago on a big rewire in a Portland apartment building, I saw another crew using Wago lever nuts. I tried them on a few circuits and the speed and solid connection won me over. Now I use them for almost all my new work, especially in crowded boxes. Does anyone else think wire nuts are getting left behind, or am I just jumping on a trend?

Took me way too long to admit wire nuts are a pain in tight spaces. I was the guy fumbling with three wires and a twist, swearing when one popped loose. Now my Wago stash is bigger than my nut collection, and I'm not looking back.

Wagos are still connectors though, just a different type.

Exactly! That "fumbling with three wires" part hits home. I used to fight with wire nuts every single time. Now I just pop wires into a Wago and it's done in two seconds. The time and frustration saved is totally worth it. It just makes sense.
