Shoutout to the Klein NCVT-3 tester for saving my bacon on a tricky job
I was working on a panel in an old building downtown and my old non-contact tester kept giving false positives from some stray voltage. Switched to the NCVT-3 with its adjustable sensitivity and it cut through the noise, letting me find the actual hot wire in about two minutes. Anyone else run into this with older testers on noisy circuits?

Totally get what you're saying, and it reminds me of how a lot of old tech just can't handle modern interference. My old radio picks up static from every LED light in my house now. It's like the whole world got noisier and the basic tools from ten years ago just freak out. Good point from @patel.logan about those old testers messing you up. You really need gear that can filter out all the new background buzz just to get a clear signal.
