Spent $800 on a thermal camera for my phone and it paid for itself in one week.

I was chasing a phantom overload on a panel in an old apartment building. My regular tools weren't showing the issue. I finally caved and got the FLIR One Pro. The first scan showed a single breaker terminal running 50 degrees hotter than the rest, a classic loose connection I would have missed. Found two more just like it in other units. The landlord paid for the camera call and the repairs, so it literally covered its own cost. What other diagnostic tools have you guys bought that felt expensive but were instantly worth it?

Literally covered its own cost" is the best feeling! I love when a fancy tool immediately proves it's not just a toy. My wallet cries but my work gets so much easier.

My buddy's new saw paid for itself in one weekend job.
